Obama-rama - in our own backyard

Over the Labor Day weekend we were fortunate to be among the 20,000 central Ohioans who attended the Obama-Biden rally in Dublin at Coffman High School, almost literally right in our own backyard. Five of us walked over to the stadium, where were fortunate to have special access passes waiting. Security was tight - so we were escorted - single file - to incredible seats where we enjoyed a rare, unique opportunity to witness history in the making, first hand. The boys seemed excited and impressed. I hope someday they remember it. Sam was wide-eyed, observing the visible security detail; for this event the not-so-secret-Secret Service. Decked in suits and sunglasses, square jawed, determined, all American and very, very tall - they were a visible presence - gently but strongly keeping the peace.

As the likely future president begin his approach to the podium, he and running mate Joe Biden walked mere feet from us. The man - pure charisma and grace - flashed an easy (ok I'll admit it - dazzling) smile as he made his way through his adoring, cheering public.

The photo of the event included here is not mine. I found it online. The boys and I appear in the throng. For now, you can play "Where's Waldo?" - but later this week I'll run this through Photoshop and circle our location and upload a revised version.
