It's on like Donkey Kong! (aka cat vs bird)

Red Bird's kickin' it up a notch. Last summer he was satisfied by the occasional fly-by to show indoor cat August that he, and ONLY he, was undisputed King Cardinal of the Yard.

Earlier, I saw this:

Red bird, atop the candle can just outside the kitchen window, chirping like crazy at the cat. The day before, red bird was leaping at the sliding glass back door, either trying to get Auggie's attention, scare her, or just say 'hi.'

Who knows... The two have a strange relationship. A love-hate thing. When Auggie does go outside, she never tries to catch him; and he leaves her be. Maybe they simply enjoy getting each others' attention.
