Toddler speak is adorable, sometimes hysterical and definitely fleeting. So in this short window of time when they still cannot confidently pronounce their Rs and Ls, I am endeavoring to capture the fun on this blog. Besides, who has time for a baby book? Here’s the list:
Fooo-dule – Fiddle
Rinse - Shrimp
Wicks - Wisk
Ellagator - Elevator
Ellagator – Alligator
Fwee – Three
Fwed – Thread
Compooter – Computer
Gazebra – Gazebo
Beckfext – Breakfast
Newdows – Noodles
Food house – Restaurant
It took me forever to figure out what fooodule meant.
The other night I asked, “Hey guys, what’s a fooodule?”
Sam, exasperated, made a face then said “Mom, it’s like a DRUM!” Jack laughed, shook his head, pretended he was playing a little horn and said, “It’s like a
GUITAR!”
Puzzled by the mixed messages I asked, “You mean a flute?”
“Nooooo!” they both shouted.
“A fiddle?”
“Yes Mom! A FOOODULE.” Sam said, as if also saying “Duh!”
